Abstract

This studyisbased on analyzing the impact of foreign direct investment on the balance of payments in Algeriathrough a standard study for the periodfrom 2000 to 2021, where the resultsconfirmed the presence of a positive effectbetween the two variables in the short and long term, relying on the least squares model and vectorregression, and thiswasconfirmed by The causal relationshipthatdemonstrated the existence of a transitive relationshipbetween the two variables, and thishighlights the validity of the study’shypothesesbecauseforeign direct investment has a major role on the Algerian balance of payments, encouraging exports and reducing the value of imports instead of Reliance on the fuel sector.
