Abstract

The title is a fundamental factor in the composition of a text, particularly as it represents the first and primary gateway through which the reader discovers its content. It leads the reader into the depths and mysteries of the text. The latter forms a link between the reader and the literary work. No text exists without a title. Through it, the reader appreciates the aesthetics of the text, given the connotations and hidden meanings it contains that prompt the reader to delve into the experience of searching for its hidden meaning. This is what we found in the novel "Happiness Except a Quarter," where the title is characterized by symbolism and instills an element of suspense in the reader.
