Abstract

This study addresses the issue of organized crime and the mechanisms for combating it within Algerian legislation, as it is considered one of the most serious criminal phenomena threatening security and socio-economic stability. It aims to highlight the conceptual framework of organized crime in terms of its definition, characteristics, and distinction from other types of crimes, as well as to examine the main criminal phenomena associated with it. The study also sheds light on the legal and institutional mechanisms adopted by the Algerian legislator to combat this type of crime, whether through substantive and procedural laws or by strengthening the role of security agencies and international cooperation. The study concludes that the effectiveness of combating organized crime requires the integration of legal and institutional efforts, along with the continuous development of legislative tools to keep pace with the evolution of modern criminal methods.
