Résumé
The Customs Administration represents the first line of defense in protecting consumers from counterfeit goods through strict border control and by verifying that imported products comply with legal and health standards. It relies on rigorous regulatory mechanisms that grant customs officers the authority to inspect shipments, detain suspicious consignments, and seize and destroy counterfeit products. In addition, the Customs Administration promotes coordination with various security, judicial, and economic authorities at both the national and international levels to strengthen information exchange and improve enforcement strategies. Its role is essential in preventing the circulation of counterfeit goods that threaten consumer health and the national economy, thereby ensuring a safe, stable, and fair commercial environment free from unfair competition.
