Abstract

Kidnapping is classified as one of the most heinous and serious crimes affecting the physical and psychological integrity of individuals, directly threatening societal peace and security by instilling terror and panic among citizens. In response to the noticeable rise in the rates of this crime within Algerian society, the legislator introduced a strict and specialized legal framework represented by Law No. 20-15 on the Prevention and Combating of Crimes of Kidnapping of Persons, aiming to paralyze criminal networks and curb this phenomenon. In conclusion, the study highlights the newly introduced mechanisms and procedural methods for criminal investigation and prosecution, the rules of prescription, in addition to the comprehensive national strategy adopted by the state to protect and support victims.
