Abstract

" This study aims to highlight the role of banking supervision in ensuring the stability of the banking system in Algeria under Monetary and Banking Law No. 23-09. It examines the concept, importance, and areas of banking supervision, as well as the supervisory authorities, particularly the Bank of Algeria and the Banking Commission. The study also addresses supervision of credit, management, and foreign exchange operations, in addition to the new provisions introduced by Law 23-09, especially in the fields of Islamic banking and modern payment systems. The study concludes that effective banking supervision contributes to protecting depositors' funds, strengthening confidence in the banking sector, and maintaining financial stabil"
