Abstract
This work focuses on improving solar collector performance for natural energy production.
First, a numerical simulation will be conducted and compared with other experiments to
verify the validity of the results obtained.
Six different sensor models have been taken, three of them are of different fins (2, 4, 6), and
the other three are of different fin heights (0.3, 0.5 and 0.7 m).The thermal and dynamic
behavior of the air flow inside these different cases was analyzed and compared for different
values of solar radiation (200-1000 W/m2) and for other different values of air velocity (0.2-1
m/s) at the sensor inlet.
The temperature contours, velocity fields and temperature variation at the sensor outlet as a
function of solar radiation and air velocity for each model were presented, analyzed,
compared and interpreted in detail in this brief.
All this was done with the help of the ANSYS FLUENT calculation code to solve the
conservation equations of mass, amount of motion and energy conservation by the finite
volume method.
