Abstract

"The Algerian legislator, through the 2019 electoral experience, which generated immense anger among the Algerian people in a continuous movement that did not stop until it overthrew the old government, sought to avoid anything that might undermine the will of the people. Through the 2020 constitutional amendment and Order 21/01, which includes the Organic Law on Elections, the legislator highlighted the role of the Independent National Authority as a guarantee of the integrity, transparency, and credibility of the electoral process in Algerian legislation. It also highlighted the role of the judiciary as a guarantee of the integrity of the voting process from beginning to end, within the framework of combating electoral crimes and guaranteeing the rights of candidates. This embodies democracy and promotes the electoral system within the framework of the rule of law."
