Abstract
The transition towards a green economy is an inevitable necessity in Algeria,
in light of its adoption of the sustainable development agenda for the year 2063,
to secure its economies against climate changes and environmental pollution in
all its forms, which would negatively affect the sustainable development process
in the continent. From this standpoint, some African countries have taken clear
steps towards enhancing the role of green projects in their economy by
providing the necessary financing means for them (green finance). Building and
water complying with green environmental standards.
There is no doubt that this African transformation towards enhancing the role
of the green economy in Africa would lead to many positive effects in favor of
the sustainable development process on the continent, including : achieving
development goals in accordance with Agenda 2063, reducing the gap between
supply and demand for water, protecting agricultural soils and enhancing production Agricultural, reducing the amounts of energy used in production
processes that pollute the environment....etc. However, this green transformation
faces many challenges in Africa, the most important of which are : the lack of
clear policies and regulatory and guiding frameworks on what green bonds are
in most African countries, the weak performance of actors in the field of green
finance in Africa, the most important of which are financial intermediaries from
the financial and banking sector, including banks investment institutions and
financial markets, lack of awareness of the various sources of climate finance,
and limited stakeholder participation from investors, including from the private
sector. However, the continent is still making remarkable efforts in the field of
transitioning towards a green economy and resolving current problems in it, in
order to clearly contribute to the development of the continent's economies in
the near future
