Abstract

The legal protection of green spaces constitutes a fundamental pillar within national and international legislative frameworks aimed at valuing the environment and achieving sustainable development, as Law No.07-06 on environmental protection stipulates regulating the use of natural resources, including green spaces, and protecting them from degradation, pollution and unsustainable exploitation. This legal framework, which includes procedural and penal texts, is part of the state’s obligations to preserve the environment and ensure its sustainability, compatible with the principles of sustainable development that balance the environmental, economic and social dimensions. This is evident in imposing strict restrictions on random urban expansion and encroachment on green lands, activating oversight and punishment mechanisms for violators, as well as encouraging civil society participation in environmental conservation efforts Key words : Green spaces , Sustainable, developmen.t Environment., Legal protection.
