dc.description.abstract"This study examines the use of videoconferencing technology in criminal cases under the new Law 14-25, considering it a modern audiovisual tool that keeps pace with technological advancements in the field of justice and aims to enhance judicial efficiency. The study addresses the nature and characteristics of videoconferencing, followed by its legal foundations, both international and foreign, with a focus on Algerian legislation, which incorporated this mechanism into its reforms aimed at expediting case resolution and reducing the burden on correctional facilities. The study also highlights the scope of this technology's use in the judicial investigation and trial phases, examining the Algerian judiciary's experience in its application and outlining the practical procedures for conducting videoconferencing sessions. Finally, the study explores the impact of electronic trials on fair trial guarantees, such as the principles of adversarial proceedings, publicity, and oral proceedings, while emphasizing the right to defense."
