Abstract
" National markets are experiencing outbreaks of adulterated products that pose a direct threat to consumer health and safety. In this context, Law No.03/09 obligated producers to ensure transparency and provide accurate information about their products, while emphasizing the need for them to comply with approved standards. This measure comes within a comprehensive framework aimed at protecting the consumer and reducing fraudulent practices. This is an amendment.
Despite the existence of legal texts and oversight bodies, fraudulent practices still exist, which calls for a search for more effective mechanisms to reduce them, especially since they have come to threaten the balance of the market. The legislator has stipulated a number of penalties against perpetrators of fraud, ranging from penalties of deprivation of liberty to financial fines, in addition to supplementary and administrative penalties.
