Abstract

The present paper aims to raise teachers’ consciousness on the eminence of language assessment literacy in the area of teaching English as a foreign language by probing some definitions of assessment literacy, reviewing miscellaneous studies in the field, analysing some models and alternatives for the evaluation and development of language assessment literacy in English foreign language teaching and, lastly, providing some conclusions and recommendations for the development of language assessment literacy among English foreign language teachers to better serve the demands of their students and their organisations.
