dc.description.abstract"Modern correctional institutions aim to fulfill a fundamental role centered on the rehabilitation and reform of inmates, with the goal of preparing them to individuals. the reintegration process, along with its accompanying methods of correctional treatment- whether within closed or open environmentsforms an essential part of this effort. The humane treatment of prisoners is a right guaranteed by Algerian law, as stipulated in ordinance no 72/02 concerning the regulation of prisons and inmate reintegration, and law no 04/05, which further outlines the legal framework for this process. This legal framework promotes the principles of proper treatment inside and outside correctional facilities, subjecting the prisoner to a system aimed at their reform so that they may reenter society as productive and rehabilitated individuals, once released, their presence should no longer pose a threat but rather become a positive contribution ti the community. This clearly highlights the essential role that correctional institutions must play in achieving this objective."en_US
