Abstract
Diabetes is a chronic disease affecting an increasing number of people worldwide. Its
management requires continuous monitoring of blood glucose levels with precise insulin
administration, tasks often burdensome for patients. With the increasing prevalence of
diabetes, there is a need for a non-invasive and controlled method of managing it, offering
diabetic patients a more comfortable and secure quality of life. It is in this context that our
project "InsuVida Techno" takes on its full meaning. We have developed an innovative device
aimed at automating insulin administration based on patient needs. This system uses
photoplethysmography (PPG) to monitor real-time blood glucose variations, thus providing a
more intelligent and responsive solution for diabetes management. Through the integration of
advanced technologies such as the ESP32 board, our project allows continuous glucose
tracking, precise estimation of glycemic variations with wireless (WiFi/Bluetooth) sending
and display of glycemic parameters measured by our device to a smartphone and OLED
display while administering appropriate insulin in cases of hyperglycemia or hypoglycemia
and alerting the patient by an alarm. Insulin administration is ensured by a pump implemented
using a stepper motor controlled by ESP32, thus guaranteeing an appropriate and rapid
response to glucose level fluctuations. Our project aims to significantly improve the quality of
life of diabetic patients by offering them an automated and less invasive solution for
controlling their disease, while contributing to research in the field of smart medical devices.
