Abstract

Through this study, we examined maritime collision and its liability within the framework of Algerian law, considering it one of the most important sources of liability in maritime law. Such collisions give rise to a legal obligation to compensate for damages resulting from collisions between ships or between ships and other objects. This study addresses the legal basis of such liability by identifying the conditions for its establishment and determining the various forms of fault in maritime collisions. Finally, it becomes clear that the conventions and legislative texts mentioned in our study primarily aim to protect maritime navigation and guarantee the rights of injured parties.
