Abstract

Testimony is one of the most important legal means of proof, given the prevalence and continuous development of crime, particularly in the fight against organized crime, terrorist crimes, and corruption offenses. As a result, the Algerian legislator sought to amend Ordinance No. 15-02, which modifies and complements Ordinance No. 66-155 containing the Code of Criminal Procedure. This amendment added Chapter VI to Title II of Book I, titled "Protection of Witnesses, Experts, and Victims." This procedure adopted a series of procedural and non-procedural protection measures to ensure the safety of the lives of witnesses and their families who are threatened by gangs when they testify validly before the courts or security personnel in serious crime cases.
