Abstract
Spirometry is the most commonly performed respiratory function test in the world. It is an
examination that provides information both on the volumes of pulmonary gas that a subject is capable
of mobilizing and on the gas flow rates that this subject is capable of generating during a “forced”
maneuver. Spirometry allows, finally and above all, to relate exhaled flow rates to the volumes at
which these flow rates are measured; Spirometry makes it possible to collect several physiological
quantities. The most commonly used in clinical practice are the forced vital capacity (FVC) and the
maximum exhaled flow rate during the first expiratory maneuver. Spirometry can then help identify
the pulmonary response. The MPX10DP is a two-port silicon pressure sensor for environmental
monitoring systems and level indicators. The MPX10DP pressure sensor is currently used for the
design of a spirometer based on an Arduino card (UNO or other type); To amplify physiological
signals which are generally in the order of microvolts and millivolts, often using AD620 or INA 126
instrumentation amplifiers.
