Abstract

This study aims to introduce the strategy of economic diversification and to Emphasis on the necessity of its application, Considering that Algeria's economy is a rentier economy dominated by the hydrocarbon sector. This study came in order to measure the impact of the main economic sectors outside the oil sector on the gross domestic product during the period 1990-2020. Its first part is theoretical, and econometric analysis by following the ARDL methodology for analyzing the impact of economic sectors on GDP. The study concluded that the impact of the economic sectors, excluding the hydrocarbon sector, on the GDP has a weak impact, due to excessive dependence on the oil sector and the interdependence between these sectors.
