dc.description.abstracthe Algerian Family Law acknowledges the financial independence of spouses. It states that a married woman, like a man, has a financial status independent of her husband's, just as it was before marriage. This allows each spouse to manage their own finances without interference from the other party. This provision does not affect other obligations, such as the husband's duty to provide for the family, regardless of whether the wife is employed or not. This principle is consistent with the family laws of other Arab countries and is supported by the majority of Muslim jurists. Recently, the French Civil Code has also recognized this concept.en_US
