Algeria has adopted several mechanisms in the field of preventing, combating, eliminating or reducing corruption, just like the rest of the world, and has established several institutions and bodies, including the Central Bureau for the suppression of corruption and the accounting council, then the National Commission for the prevention and control of corruption and then the supreme authority for transparency, prevention and control of corruption, which it established under the last constitutional amendment in 2020, and has also changed its tasks and role from expanding its authority and granting it more supervisory roles in addition to its advisory role, and the Supreme Council for transparency, prevention and combating corruption is a constitutional institution It is independent and does not follow any authority where its composition and powers are regulated and determined by a law, unlike the National Authority for the prevention and Combating of corruption, which was organized and its composition was determined by a presidential decree because it was subordinate to the president of the Republic
