dc.description.abstractMedical oxygen is a vital necessity in many clinical situations, especially for patients suffering from respiratory diseases, as well as in emergency and intensive care units. Due to the logistical limitations of traditional oxygen cylinders, oxygen concentrators have emerged as a more autonomous, continuous, and secure alternative. This thesis fits within this context and focuses on the design and control of a portable oxygen concentrator using PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) technology, managed by an Arduino microcontroller. The system incorporates the automatic control of solenoid valves, safety sensor monitoring, and fault detection. The electronic design is simulated and validated using Proteus (ISIS & ARES), and a printed circuit board (PCB) is created to ensure optimal hardware integration. This work is structured into three main chapters:  The first chapter presents the theoretical foundations of oxygen concentrators, discussing their types, the technologies used (such as PSA and VPSA), and their general characteristics.  The second chapter focuses on the functional analysis of the PSA-based portable system, detailing its core components and proposed control architecture.  The third chapter is dedicated to the practical implementation of the system through simulation in Proteus, Arduino programming, and PCB design. The aim of this project is to deliver a compact, autonomous, and reliable solution capable of producing high-purity oxygen with accessible and low-cost resources, ideally suited for rural environments, emergency contexts, and resource-limited settings.en_US
