Abstract

Copyright is considered one of the most important intellectual property rights as it represents intellectual and mental creativity. Therefore, the Algerian legislator, like other legislation, protects works of any kind and also protects their authors by recognizing for them a set of rights, whether literary or financial. It also approved mechanisms to protect these rights, which are either civil protection, represented by precautionary measures and civil liability lawsuits to demand compensation, in addition to penal protection, represented by the imposition of original and supplementary penalties, all with the aim of deterring aggressors and violators of these rights.
