Contribution des techniques d’irrigations pratiquée dans la régiond’Ain-Témouchent

Abstract

The wilaya of Ain Témouchent is an essentially agricultural region, very famous for its production both plant and animal, almost all of its economy is based on agriculture, however, to improve profitability, efficient irrigation remains at the center of concerns of those in charge of the agricultural sector, as well as all the actors concerned. Faced with the objectives , the current and future challenges, given the importance that the state attaches to the agricultural sector in the Algerian economy. The DSA was forced to increase its water resources for irrigation, diversify its irrigation methods, modernize its processes for recovering purified wastewater, and work to achieve more extension of irrigable land. Irrigation is generally defined as the application of water to the soil, and is classified as gravity irrigation, sprinkler irrigation and micro irrigation. Deciding whether to select an irrigation technique or to switch to a more efficient technique is complicated. From a water conservation point of view, the choice is simple, water savings increase when switching from gravity irrigation to sprinkling and from sprinkling to micro irrigation. However, the success of an irrigation technique will be very dependent on the site, the situational factors as well as the level of management used.
