Abstract

"This study aims to review the key conceptual aspects related to artificial intelligence, which is considered one of the most prominent achievements of the human mind and represents a scientific field experiencing rapid and continuous development in the modern era. there is no unified definition of artificial intelligence , as each scholar has relied on their own criteria. The study focuses on the characteristics that distinguish this technology from others and provides clarification of AI components and its various types. We also presented the most important applications of artificial intelligence in various fields highlighting its advantages and disadvantages, and defined the criminal liability for actions carried out by AI entities. The study also addresses the legal aspects associated with artificial intelligence by shedding light on crimes that may arise in the context of AI. It examines the extent to which the elements of a crime apply to sush crimes,and identifying the most pro,inent crimes, and applicable punitive measures. Additionally, it discusses the positive role of artificial intelligence in combating crime and in digital criminal investigations. "
