Abstract

This work is an introduction to the technology of Digital Network Integrated Services (ISDN). ISDN is a digital telephone network operative manner to the level of the user. In this study, it is reported only features, operating procedures and protocols used in data exchange. If this technology is no longer of any in vogue, it is always useful to know the properties, particularly for interfacing historical telephony infrastructure with IP networks. The ISDN Application processed through an AXE switch uses the same structures assigned to the analog Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) and constitutes a platform for future technologies that are ADSL and cable.
