This work aimed to design hydrogel materials based on acrylic acid (AAc) and acrylamide (AAm) through chemical crosslinking using potassium persulfate and N,N′- methylenebisacrylamide (Bis-acrylamide) as the crosslinking agent. Hydrogels based on acrylic acid (AA) were also prepared via physical crosslinking in the presence of CaCl2. Subsequently, a PAAc/TiO2 composite was synthesized to investigate its antimicrobial properties. The obtained hydrogels were characterized using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The analysis revealed that the swelling capacity depends on the concentration of AAc, pH, and temperature. The application of the PAAc/TiO2 composite in antimicrobial activity was carried out to assess its effectiveness against different bacterial strains, highlighting the synergistic effect between the polymer and the metal oxide in inhibiting microbial growth.en_US
