Abstract
The species Marrubim vulgare L, and among the medicinal plants identified among the
populations and benefiting from good therapeutic reputations and which will therefore have to
be put to the test of serious investigations of chemical and biological decryptions. It is also
found in western Algeria and develops in the mountains, forests and highlands; it also grows
on rocks, pastures and crops.
The aim of the study is to contribute to the knowledge and identification of the main physical
and chemical characteristics of the soils occupied by the species Marrubium vulgare L. in the
commune of Hammam bouhadjer, wilaya of Ain Témouchent. And to try to highlight the soil-
vegetation relationship that could characterize them and how to conserve.
The results of the study showed that Marrubium vulgare L. develops on soils with a balanced
texture, more precisely silty and limono-sandy, those soils that have significant limestone
contents (total limestone), and a very low assimilable limestone fraction, the soils are unsalted
with moderately basic pH.
The CPA has allowed us to identify and confirm the soil conditions that favor the
existence and development of this species.
