Résumé
The enforcement of foreign judgments is a fundamental issue in private international law and is becoming increasingly important in light of the expansion of cross-border relations and transactions. In Algeria, the enforcement of such judgments is governed by the provisions of the Code of Civil and Administrative Procedure and ratified international conventions. The Algerian legislature has adopted a system of supervision, whereby the judge verifies that certain conditions are met, such as non-violation of public order and the jurisdiction of the foreign court. Foreign judgments only become enforceable after they have been certified as enforceable. However, the governing texts suffer from some ambiguity, giving the judiciary an important discretionary role.
