Abstract
"Cryptocurrencies, especially Bitcoin introduced in 2008, have enabled faster digital
transactions while ensuring confidentiality and decentralization. However, these advantages have
been exploited for illegal purposes, particularly in financing terrorism by concealing the sources
of funds and user identities. These currencies pose a challenge to national security due to their
legal, security, and economic implications, which requires the development of appropriate
legislation, effective control mechanisms, and the strengthening of the capabilities of relevant
authorities. This study highlights this growing threat and emphasizes the need for clear legal and
regulatory frameworks to combat the illicit financing of terrorism through cryptocurrencies."
