Abstract

"Pledge of movable property without Dispossession is a security agreement whereby a movable asset is used as collateral to secure a debt, without transfrrring its possession to the creditor. The debtor(pledgor) retains possession and continues to use the pledged asset. Under Algerian law, this type of pledge must be registered in the national registry to be enforceable against third parties. It is designed to facilitate access to credit and promote economic activity, especially for businesses needing to retain use of their assets while obtaining financing."
