Abstract

" This study seeks to explore the impact of psychological trauma on the level of psychological security among women who have undergone mastectomy as a result of breast cancer. The study originated from a central question: Do women who have undergone mastectomy suffer from psychological trauma? And does this trauma affect their sense of psychological security? . To conduct this study, the clinical method was employed, using its tools: clinical observation, clinical interview, the psychological trauma test, and the psychological security scale. The study sample consisted of four cases differing in age and duration of illness. The results ultimately confirmed both hypotheses: women diagnosed with breast cancer who underwent mastectomy clearly suffer from psychological trauma, which negatively impacts their sense of psychological security. This finding calls for specialized psychological intervention that takes into account the psychological and social dimensions of this group.
