Abstract
Digital literature is an emerging genre that integrates multimedia (text, sound,
image, movement) within a digital interactive space, distinguishing it from
traditional literature. The emergence of this genre in the Arab context, and
particularly in Algeria, occurred at a comparatively late stage in comparison to
the West.
This research, entitled 'Digital Literature in Algeria: In the section entitled
'Reality and Practices', the concept of digital literature was explored, with
particular attention paid to its most salient characteristics. The section also
examined the genesis of digital literature in both the Western world and the
Arab world, with a focus on Algeria as a case study. This examination involved
the analysis of specific individual experiences, including the digital novel 'Cell
No. 06' by Hamza Guerreira and the digital story 'Scorpion'. The present study
seeks to shed light on this new literary genre in Algeria, in addition to the
existence of individual initiatives that seek to create a distinctive Algerian
digital literary identity.
