Dynamiques sociolinguistiques et sémiotique dans les débats télévisuels algériens : Le cas de l'émission Dr. Help sur la chaine « Echourouk tv »

Abstract

Our thesis explores the sociolinguistic and semiotic dynamics within the Algerian television program 'Dr Help' on Echourouk TV. We examine how languages (Arabic, French, sometimes and English) are used and negotiated in this specific media context, as well as sociolinguistic phenomena such as linguistic borrowing, bilingualism, and code switching. Using a sociolinguistic and semiotic approach, our research analyzes the speeches of hosts and guests, as well as the advertising posters of the program. We also explore how media can influence linguistic attitudes and sociolinguistic norms in Algeria. Our conclusion highlights the importance of media in promoting multilingualism and cultural diversity in Algeria, particularly in a post media liberalization context
