Abstract

This study, entitled (semantic investigations and interpretation), offers insights into the origin of heritage as elaborated by dr. “Mankour”.it describes the book and analyzes serval essential elements such as connotative meaning and text interpretation, as well as the reasons that drove the writer to create his work. Through our study, we have concluded that the title refers to the relationship between texts, their meanings, and their interpretations applied within the discourse context of fundamental heritage. Regardless of its type, a text represents content, whether religious, literary, or philosophical. Returning to the mean signs revolving around religious and intellectual heritage, principles, values, and beliefs, which the speaker deems necessary for a return to our Arab heritage, as it is considered the most important mechanism for discourse analysis and text interpretation, in addition to relying on the comments of thinkers in this field and others. After a thorough examination of this book’s format, we have extracted four semantic fields and, to conclude, provided some suggestions to aid in these endeavors.
