Abstract

this study dealt with the phenomenon of double deficits in Algeria for the period 2000 - 2019 , And it started from the hypothesis that, there is a causal relationship starting from the general budget to the balance trade , and this relationship is different in the short and long term , and to determine the nature of the relationship between the budget deficit and the balance trade deficit , varies from country to country depending on the nature of economic policy followed in the country , according to the impact of macroeconomic variables on the economy. This study involved two sections, the first section deals with the theoretical underpin nings of the phenomenon of double deficits, while the second, deals about Analyzing the relationship between the general budget deficit and the trade balance deficit and some economic variables, then measuring the relationship between the two deficits . T his study has relied on the analytical method which includes inductive and deductive approach, as well as to measure the relationship between variables through the standard method of analysis VAR
