Résumé
The purpose of this work is to investigate, using the gravimetric method, the corrosion resistance
of steel in a 0.5 M sulfuric acid medium and how the corrosion inhibitor povidone iodine protects
it. Numerous factors, including time, temperature, and concentration, were investigated. The
ideal PVP-I concentration is 10⁻3M for a one-hour duration at 20°C, with an efficiency of 97,19
% in 5hours . Both an endothermic process and a physisorption tendency were evident in the
thermodynamic activation parameters. The adsorption of PVP-I to the steel surface was shown
to be exothermic by the Langmuir isotherm, and the spontaneous character of the physical
process was revealed by the Gads°. The effectiveness of the PVP-I inhibitor in unperformed tests
has been determined through the development of an experimental design
