Etude de l’effet inhibition d’un produit pharmaceutique de l’acier dans un milieu agressif

Abstract

The purpose of this work is to investigate, using the gravimetric method, the corrosion resistance of steel in a 0.5 M sulfuric acid medium and how the corrosion inhibitor povidone iodine protects it. Numerous factors, including time, temperature, and concentration, were investigated. The ideal PVP-I concentration is 10⁻3M for a one-hour duration at 20°C, with an efficiency of 97,19 % in 5hours . Both an endothermic process and a physisorption tendency were evident in the thermodynamic activation parameters. The adsorption of PVP-I to the steel surface was shown to be exothermic by the Langmuir isotherm, and the spontaneous character of the physical process was revealed by the Gads°. The effectiveness of the PVP-I inhibitor in unperformed tests has been determined through the development of an experimental design
