Abstract

Through this research, we aim to objectively highlight the Algerian pilgrimages to Hejaz included in the books "Collection of Modern Algerian Journeys during the Colonial Period 1830-1962". This collection serves as a major encyclopedia, guiding researchers on Algerian journeys during a period with few travels and limited written travel texts. During the colonial era, Algerians were deprived of their rights, including travel and writing. Pilgrimages to Hejaz were prominently featured in the collection's books on external journeys, appearing in the fourth part after internal journeys, as Algerians traveled to Hejaz for the Hajj rituals
