This extended essay explores the depiction of masculinity in the novel It Ends with Us
written by Collen Hthrough a comparative analysis of traditional and modern perspectives.
Through examining the characters of Ryle and Atlas, the study investigates how their
contrasting masculine traits and behaviours shaped the protagonist's experiences and
contributed to the development of conflict and tension in the narrative. The research aims to
shed light on the evolving understanding of masculinity in contemporary literature and offers
insights into the power dynamics and societal implications associated with traditional and
