Abstract

Today the stock exchange market (stock market) has become an effective tool and an essential role in the development of the economy in general the strength of the economy has become measured according to the strength and effectiveness of the stock exchange which is on of the most important mechanisms that help finance investments and renew foreign investment for them. This study aims to identify what the Algiers stock exchange is in general and study the most important economic variables that stimulate the activity of the Algiers stock exchange where this study found that there is an almost complete absence of the private sector which represents the main pillar withim the stock exchange to raise its efficiency and activity trading within the stock exchange was limited to only 4 Algerian institutions. This study suggested the need for a rapid shift toward encouraging the private sector to take advantage of the volume of unvested savings awned by individual and institutions alike (the stock exchange) as well as linking other economic variables the money supply and government spending to the financial market to raise the efficiency of the stock exchange and stimulate its activity so that it become one of the most important stock exchange in the region.
