Abstract
Industries generate a large amount of waste such as orange peels. They are an important
source of secondary metabolites, the peel is the part where methanolic, ethanolic extracts are
found in large quantities they have beneficial effects on human health because they possess
many biological activities. In this perspective we have evaluated the biological activities of the
ethanolic and methanolic extracts. Our results showed a significant cytotoxicity of our
methanolic and ethanolic extracts at high concentrations, moreover the results of this present
work demonstrate that the ethanolic and methanolic extracts have considerable anti-hemolytic
effects compared to the reference molecules tested, the ethanolic and methanolic extracts also
revealed an effective inhibition of the thermal denaturation of bovine albumin with maximum
percentages of methanol extract at 86%, ethanol at 96% and 99.18% of diclofenac Our work
therefore allows us to conclude that the extracts of orange peels have effects that provide antiinflammatory
and anti-hemolytic activities at well determined concentrations.
