Abstract
This study aimed to shed light on paper pulp production through the recycling of paper waste,
considering that the volume of paper waste is continuously increasing, leading to the
depletion of forest resources due to the process of tree cutting to meet the needs of factories.
The term "paper waste" is a term that carries a negative connotation for most people and is
considered insignificant due to the lack of societal awareness of its hidden importance.
However, economically, it holds commercial and industrial value, as it can be utilized instead
of being randomly disposed of. Recycling paper is considered one of the best ways to protect
the environment and preserve its resources. This study addressed the importance of paperrecycling, as well as the current status of paper waste recycling worldwide and specifically in
Algeria. Algeria has the potential to achieve self-sufficiency by recycling its paper waste
since it is among the countries with the highest consumption of paper products. The study also
discussed the important techniques of paper pulp production and various types of recycled
paper. Additionally, it presented the stages involved in the process of paper pulp production
through the utilization of used paper.
To achieve the objective of this study, we proposed the establishment of a dedicated paper
production factory locally in the" Ain Temouchent" province, utilizing used paper. The
economic, financial, and technical feasibility of this project was studied, and a preliminary
model for this project was presented
