It consists of concealing the illicit origin of funds derived from criminal activities and integrating them into the legal economy. The study presents the concept of money laundering, its characteristics, constituent elements, and sources, as well as the traditional and modern methods used to carry it out. It also highlights its economic, social, and political consequences while analyzing the preventive and punitive mechanisms adopted by the Algerian legislator to combat this phenomenon.
