The research aims to show how classical Arabic scholarship, particularly in the fields of rhetoric, literary criticism, and Quranic exegesis, contributed to the early development of analyzing texts as cohesive units beyond the sentence level, despite the absence of the modern term. The study is divided into two main parts: A theoretical section that outlines the basic concepts of text linguistics, and highlights the fundamental distinctions between sentence grammar and text grammar. An applied section that investigates manifestations of text grammar in the works of major classical scholars such as Abd al- Qahir al-Jurjani (in rhetoric), Hazm al-Qartajanni (in literary criticism), and classical Quranic exegetes. The research concludes that text grammar, although a modern linguistic term, has deep roots in the Arabic linguistic and intellectual tradition, evidenced by a sophisticated understanding of textual cohesion, coherence, and contextual relations. The study emphasizes the importance of further research in this field to bridge traditional Arabic linguistic thought with contemporary approaches in discourse and text analysis.othertext grammar , text linguistics, see lingntencuistics, classical arabic text, abd al qahir al jurjani, ahzm al qartajanni, linguistic exegesis.
