The study focuses on investigating the influence of the French language on teaching the English language in Algerian elementary schools. To tackle this issue, the questionnaire and the interview were used as research tools. The questionnaire was submitted to sixty parents of pupils studying at Bouaza Kouider, Hafid Tnessi, and Ikhlaf Boumedien primary schools in Tlemcen. Alongside the questionnaire, an interview has been conducted with three French language teachers and another interview with three English language teachers in the three selected primary schools. The data analysis revealed that the majority of the pupils’ parents and teachers recognize the importance of the English language and strongly support its implementation in the Algerian primary schools. Moreover, the participants believed that the French language has a positive impact on teaching the English language at primary schools.
