It aims to clarify the legal and regulatory framework of the regulatory authority, explain its legal nature and characteristics, with a focus on the extent of its independence from the executive authority. It also highlights the supervisory role it exercises over audiovisual activity, particularly with regard to monitoring compliance with publishing conditions and the content of digital platforms for distributing audiovisual materials, and ensuring compliance with professional rules, manners and ethics when practicing this profession. The memorandum concluded that the National Independent Authority for Audiovisual Regulation has become an imperative necessity to ensure a balance between freedom of the media and the requirements of public order.
