The study highlights the role of language contact — particularlybetween French, MoroccanArabicdialect, and certain borrowingsfrom English — in the creation of humor and sociolinguisticstereotypes on social media. The researchdemonstratesthat code-switching, borrowing, linguistichybridity, and diglossiaconstitute essential processes for producingcomiceffectsbased on linguisticcontrast, exaggeration, and cultural representations. Thesemultilingual practices alsofunction as discursive and identity-relatedtoolsthatstrengthen the connectionbetween the comedian and his audience.
