It also highlights the nature of the transformations experienced by Arab society and the crises and contradictions that resulted from them. The study aims to explore how the two writers employed narrative discourse and artistic techniques to diagnose manifestations of social dysfunction and expose various forms of marginalization, violence, corruption, and oppression suffered by individuals within society. In light of the findings reached, it can be argued that the two collections represent a short- story experience with a clear critical dimension.
