It explores the concept of women prisoners, the historical development of their treatment, and the factors contributing to female criminality. The study also reviews the main rights and guarantees granted to women prisoners under international instruments, particularly the Bangkok Rules and the Nelson Mandela Rules, and analyzes the extent to which these standards have been incorporated into Algerian legislation, especially the Law on the Organization of Prisons and the Social Reintegration of Prisoners. The study concludes that Algerian legislation has adopted several international standards relating to the protection of women prisoners. However, further efforts are still required to strengthen and effectively implement these protections to safeguard their dignity and promote their rights within penal institutions.Women prisonerslegal protectionAlgerian legislationinternational instrumentsBangkok Ruleshuman rightsrights.الــــــــحماية الــــــقانونية للـــمرأة الــــسجينة
