The commercial register aims to ensure transparency in economic transactions, determine merchant status, and guarantee the legal publicity of information related to individuals and legal entities. It also contributes to protecting third parties and strengthening trust between economic operators, in addition to its statistical and control role, enabling the state to monitor and organize commercial activity. The commercial register in Algeria has undergone a gradual evolution through different historical stages, moving from a simple administrative system to a structured legal framework, particularly with economic reforms and digitalization. These developments have improved and simplified registration, modification, and deregistration procedures. The study concludes that the commercial register is a key pillar in organizing economic life, combining legal, economic, and informational functions, while requiring continuous adaptation to the demands of digital transformation and the modern economy."otherCommercial register – merchant – legal publicity – registration – deregistration – modification – transparency – commercial activity – Algerian commercial law – National Center of the Commercial Register – digitalization – Algerian economy – commercial transactions – legal protection – economic organizationدور السجل التجاري في تنظيم النشاط التجاري وتحقيق الشفافية والاستقرار الإقتصادي في الجزائر
